Urban designer, Mogavero Notestine Associates, 2007 (UNBUILT)
This design proposal offered a new model for sustainable development in Davis on an infill property at the periphery of the city. Adjacent to farm land, it utilized a required agricultural buffer to provide habitat area and community gardens. It collected all stormwater onsite through a dedicated greenbelt system. Multiple types of housing were proposed, from affordable apartments to live-work lofts, cooperative housing, zero-lot homes and single family detached homes. Although the project was not passed by voters, it did set a precedent that has influenced future housing developments in the city.
As the project manager, I was responsible for the design concept along with principal David Mogavero. I also helped to facilitate public meetings as well as coordinating between consultants and city planning staff.
