About Me:
I am a community designer, architect and educator engaged in city-making at multiple scales-through architecture, landscape design, public engagement, and research. I have practiced architecture and urban design in Texas and California and currently am an assistant professor of landscape architecture, sustainable environmental design, and community development at the University of California, Davis.

My work follows an ethnographic approach to design practice and research. My practice is built around an intimate engagement with people in the everyday places they work and live. My projects promote ecological design, environmental justice, and community empowerment.

Through academic and professional collaborations, as well as in my personal life, I savor city life and the diversity of experiences and challenges it brings. I am happiest working on projects that make a difference in people’s quality of life. Ask me how I can be part of your next project, whether by guiding a community design process, partnering in research, or designing sustainable developments, green buildings, urban agriculture, or ecological landscapes.
