This infill housing project for 108 new homes sits on one of the last remaining open spaces in the city core. As the urban designer on the project, I worked with the clients, consultants and city staff to develop a feasible and marketable conceptual site layout. The resulting plan attains a density of 9 units per acre, providing efficient and community-oriented housing within an easy biking distance of downtown and UC Davis. The conceptual plan was adapted by others and was approved by the City in 2008. Construction is still pending on the site.
