The unincorporated towns of Cottonwood and Happy Valley rest just outside of Redding, California at the edge of Shasta County. Both towns sought ways to preserve their historical and rural character, while enhancing road safety and a sense of place. As the urban designer on the team, I helped facilitate charrettes and prepared a visioning plan for each community. I worked closely with illustrator Steve Price of Urban Advantage to create before / after photo simulations, shown below.
